Internet Business Manifesto

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed.

Do you ever get the feeling that you’re just spinning your wheels trying to make money online? I do.

Were you drawn to the Internet because you can clearly see the potential to make really good money with nothing more complicated than a keyboard and mouse? I was.

Are you working a lot online and not really making any decent money? I am.

Today I got lucky and found out why from a guy named Rich Schefren. Rich has been the personal coach to many of the top Internet marketing gurus and he has released an ebook called: Internet Business Manifesto.

No, it’s not a sales pitch disguised as a free offering. It is clear breakdown of what you need to be thinking and doing to create a real Internet business.

Frankly it rocked my world. Tears were shed as I realized why what I was currently doing was never going to get me to my goals.

In case you’re wondering there’s nothing in this recommendation for me. There is no affiliate link. I found this to be essential reading for taking an Internet business the next level, which I would define as more money [a lot more] and less work. He shows you how to do it.

You can register here and then you’ll get a download link for the 33 page ebook. I printed it out and read it through. If you’re content with making a living online then forget about it. If you want to have a real business [my definition of a real business is that you can take 6 months off without any contact - like on a remote tropical island or something - and when you return the business is worth more and generating more profit than when you left] then
you’ll learn a lot from this short book. The guy clearly know his stuff.

I just wanted to thank you for your kind words about my report. You definately got the point I was trying to get accross. Hopefully my report will help move internet marketing in a new direction, away from opportunity seeking, and closer to business building. Actually, I just wrote a small poem on my blog - I know you’ll enjoy it.

Thanks for the link Jon, that’s a great resource - and thanks for writing it Richard.

I always find it amusing that just when I think that I have got this industry sussed, some information comes along and I end up learning nearly as much as I already know. I guess that’s what makes it so much fun!

Thanks Dominic…yes it is amazing that it is free. And I’m the same as you…it seems to be happening more and more that I realized I don’t have anything figured out. I think that is a good thing.

The manifesto is indeed an interesting doc and an eye opener, but it’s more like a teaser, it tells you what the problem is, you need to figure out the solution by yourself (or hire Rich!), which is a good thing

Unfortunately, “the missing chapter” (Rich’s sequel to the first ebook) can be safely renamed “the missing self promotion chapter”.

But hey one can’t complain about free stuff. I’ll suggest to others to read the manifesto, but waste no time on the second part (which does include good stuff, but could be shrinking from 30 pages to 3).

Obviously, Rich is a very skilled marketer. And excels at creating hype.

Picked up a copy of “The 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing” by Al Ries & Jack Trout.

Published in 1993 but as valid an investment in this entrepreneur’s education as studying Buffet’s approach during the late 90s Nasdaq Stock Bubble ;-)

Rich’s IBM would be an interesting case study in their use.
